A green-hued fuzzy image of Meghana on her skateboard - her outline is dark and there is a second "screen" (like picture in picture) of the same image in the lower middle right side of the image. Meghana's skateboard is flipped up so it's nose is in the air.

A Presentation of the 2022 Scott Leroux Fund for Media Arts Exploration

Meghana's time in Winnipeg participating in the Scott Leroux residency was filled with chaotic adventures. As a first-time visitor to Winnipeg, the experiences she had contributed to the works she was creating at VP. From videoing around downtown to spending late nights in the VP's analog video suite, every day was filled with special moments. Titled Garry St., this installation-based presentation will showcase multiple videos displayed through projectors and CRTs of the video documentation and experimentation that were created during her month-long residency.

About the Artist

1

Based in Calgary Alberta, Meghana Iyer is a current third-year Time-Based Media Arts student at Alberta University of the Arts. From a young age, the use of digital arts has been prominent for most of her life. With such a fond interest in the use of technology, today she primarily uses digital mediums such as cut-out animation and experimental video art. In contrast to using digital mediums, she also uses glass techniques such as sandblasting, blown glass, and mould work. Meghana is an avid skateboarder and it acts as a source of inspiration for many of her works. She strives to mesh the worlds of skateboarding, video art, and glass art to convey her unique and personal perspective.
