About the Fund

Wendy Geller Fund (WGF) – The fund is designed to assist artists with the completion of an ongoing new media project. In memory of Wendy, and in dedication to her commitment to the artistic community, the Geller family has generously established the Wendy Geller Fund. The $500 fund aims to assist VP members in the completion of new media projects.

Successful applicants will receive a cash award up to $500.

Eligibility

The fund is designed to assist artists in the completion of a new media project. Examples of eligible expenses include, but are not limited to: colour correction, audio mastering, subtitling, duplication costs, package design.

Any questions on eligibility can be directed to the Education Coordinator.

  • Applicants must be current members of VP.
  • All types of new media projects are eligible, including audio art, installation,
    performance, video, animation, robotics, biotech and web-based projects.
  • Works produced for school are not eligible.
  • Commercial projects are not eligible.

Submission Requirements

Due to the nature of the Wendy Geller Fund, application requirements for the award are streamlined for simplicity. Applicants must keep their proposals to one page and may only submit one piece of support material. Because WGF applications do not require a budget to be submitted, applicants are asked to include (within their proposal) mention of how funds will be utilized.

Should detail relevant artistic experience of the applicant (not to exceed 3 pages.)

SUPPORT MATERIAL
Applicants are asked to submit support material that clearly demonstrates the need for the finishing fund. It is recommended that applicants submit material from the project in question (raw/unfinished video, project production documentation). We accept digital submissions only:

  • Video or audio documentation as a URL or transfer link
  • not to exceed 10 minutes - if from a longer work, please indicate where you would like the jury to start from.

Conditions

Each individual is required to adhere to the following:

  • The recipient must acknowledge VP as a support funder to the project
  • The recipient must submit audio/ visual documentation of the project to be used for promotional materials.
  • The recipient must grant VP non-exclusive distribution rights for 24 months. (Additional information regarding VP’s distribution policy can be downloaded from the Video Pool website.)
