Catalogue Spotlight:
December 2025
⟡˙⋆ Welcome to VP Distribution's December Catalogue Spotlight ⋆˙⟡
Well, it looks like we’ve made it another 12 months around the Sun! The winter season is officially upon us, as the days get shorter (and colder) we may crave some light in the darkness. Some find that bright spot by lighting candles, others might haul out the fairy lights, or sit under a "happy lamp." Most of us bring our loved ones close, eat mountains of delicious food, and make memories. By coming together we remind each other that, despite the darkness, we are not alone.
For December’s catalogue spotlight we’ve chosen an array of works that focus on visual experimentation with light and colour! All of the titles listed are available to rent on VUCAVU, simply click the hyperlinked title to access them.
Happy Holidays to those who celebrate!

Experiment in Landscape No.1 by Sarah Fuller, 2012
Fuller experiments with light, shadow, and landscape in this short, using body movement and stillness in juxtaposition to the serene atmosphere. The audio of this work contains a nostalgic rhythm—crunching snow and swishing polyester converse with the soft, whistling winds.
Experiment in Landscape, No.1 Â is an investigation into constructed landscape, narrative and performance. Using the backdrop of Rundle Mountain under a full moon, I attempt to describe a moment of suspension in nature; suspension of belief and of physical reality. I am interested shooting the mountains at night because of paper cutout effect rendered upon them by moonlight. My act of entering the scene to do a headstand is intended as an interruption to the surreal nature of the landscape, but also an attempt for me to gain a different perspective on the landscape through performing a physical gesture that requires concentration and focus. The work is as much about the language of photography as it is about video, as I try to reconcile the construct of the tradition of monumental landscape photography with the act of being a body in space in nature.
Disturbance by Tracy Peters, 2014
Peters shines a light in the darkness in Disturbance. Whether the shed door bursts wide open or not, something always peaks through the wooden slats. Light simply refuses to be ignored.
Disturbance is a multi-sensory video that places the viewer inside of an abandoned grain shed on a windy day. Relentless wind gusts force a door to swing open and shut with a blinding flash of light. Viewer experience is intensified when Disturbance is projected in a secluded three-dimensional space.
Pepper Green Pepper by Scott Leroux, 2014
Leroux pairs a lofi psychedelic animations with an electronic soundscape that just might transport you to a different dimension. Pepper Green Pepper is spectacularly playful and surreal.
Using a simple method of screen capturing low res images Scott Leroux creates a dense pallet of ever changing visuals drenched in subconscious efforts. Then par to the course is a score produced in similar fashion by XIE (eXperimental Improv Ensemble).
This work contains flashing lights and may cause eye strain for some viewers.
