Catalogue Spotlight:
November 2025
Welcome to VP Distribution's November Catalogue Spotlight!
November is a bit of an odd month, eh? Wedged between October and December, November acts as a transitional period as the year nears its end. With 2025 drawing to a close, some may feel a certain grief or uncertainty as December rears its festive head-what will November bring? For this month's catalogue spotlight we're reflecting this seasonal transition by featuring works that focus on themes of the in-between, uncanny, strange, and surreal. All of the titles are available to rent on VUCAVU, simply click the hyperlinked title to access them!
We hope you enjoy this dive into the unknown with us...
Anderson utilizes animated sketches, nature imagery, and dreamy soundscapes to explore the passage of time.
Hold journeys into a still, unsteady space documenting the passage of time through the elements. Overlapping shots of hand held video are disassembled using frame by frame alterations and combined with animation experiments. Through the window of both the waking and dreaming mind, creatures of the earth, water, air, and fire hide in the backyard.
The Architect by Rick Fisher and Don Rice, 2004
Fisher uses the scenery of Winnipeg architecture to create eerie and surreal depictions of familiar urban landscapes.
The architect of ideology attempts to design a rationale to exist within the ambiguous territory located between "is" and "ought", and discovers that he has encountered an unresolvable dilemma.
Golden Room by Michael Stecky, 2008
Stecky expertly crafts animated abstractions of natural and un-natural elements paired with an expansive soundtrack.
Golden Room is the third in a series of animated videos that use found materials to construct hallucinatory landscapes that are both visceral and uncanny.
