This introductory workshop is designed for artists looking to expand their work into the realm of computation. We’ll survey the vast landscape of programming languages and focus on several that are well-tailored to the arts. There will be examples of projects developed in visual languages like Max, Puredata and Touch Designer, game design engines such as Unity or Unreal as well as examples in C, Processing, Python and more!

The workshop will include a list of galleries that are friendly to exhibiting Media Arts, how to get your application together and insights on what juries are looking for.

Adobe Premiere with jaymez

This workshop will be an introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro, and will cover basic and alternative editing techniques, clip management, title creation and export and compression feature as well as integration into the Creative Cloud suite of products. This workshop is for beginners and intermediate users but may also be helpful for people interested in switching over from Final Cut or Sony Vegas.

Intermediate Camera Workshop with Wendy Buelow

During this one evening class, we will explore Video Pool’s newest cameras, the Sony PXW-FS7 and Sony PXW-FS5. These cameras can capture video in 4K as well as HD, with good slow motion options. We will go through the deep menus to set the cameras up for hands on practise, and learn about important features such as Cine EI and Custom Shooting Mode.

Make the most of noisy or damaged location audio, slice and dice dialogue with total precision and generate all manner of sound effects and ambience with confidence and joy!
