Applying for an Exhibition with Jennifer Smith
Do you want to exhibit your work in artist-run -Centres across Canada? Jennifer Smith will be offering a 1.5 hour workshop on the process of applying for exhibition in galleries. The workshop will include a list of galleries that are friendly to exhibiting Media Arts, how to get your application together and insights on what juries are looking for.
Intermediate Sound Design
This workshop will demonstrate and discuss some of the techniques and concepts behind SFX production and Sound Design. We’ll explore the art of foley, analog and digital methods of processing sound and some of the conceptual/aesthetic considerations behind good design practices. Whether you’re interested in creating sound for movies, video games, sound art or something else entirely, this workshop will have a lot to offer.
Sound Post-Production: what are we listening for?
This is a four hour evening workshop for anyone interested in the process of working with recorded sounds, more commonly known as post-production. Participants of the workshop will gain insight into this process and will learn about different approaches/techniques for working with sound that can help improve the sound quality & creativity within their projects.
Ripple, Roll, Stretch: Video Edit
This evening workshop will cover the strange and fascinating world of video editing. This course will be more focused on the philosophies and concepts of editing and less on the specific tools, as the internet is filled with countless easy to follow software tutorials. While the class will be taught with Adobe Premiere, participants are encouraged to use whichever editing software they are most comfortable with (Final Cut, Da Vinci Resolve, Premiere elements, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, etc.).
