Montreal Underground Film Festival is screening Warren Chan's Pixels of the Orient and James Dixon's Nikâwiy at their festival taking place May 18/19, 2023.
In honour of Red Dress Day NIMAC put together a program of works by Indigenous Women. The program included 2 works from the VP catalogue, A Valley in Twain by Katherine Boyer and waawiyebii'ige: She Draws a Circle by Jaime Black. We're pleased to welcome milkteeth (2015) by Melissa Johns into the VP catalogue
milkteeth is an investigation into the imperfection of memory and attempts at preserving the ephemeral. A collaboration with a dancer and a sound artist, milkteeth’s aim is to craft and deconstruct an intimate visual experience. Using stereoscopy and glitch techniques to mimic corrupt data and destabilization, video fragmentation becomes analogous to the physical process of forgetting
