Distribution of Media Art Installation Call for Submission
Submission deadline: 12 November 2018
After many requests from members we have decided to expand our distribution services to include distribution of Media Art Installations.
For the first year (2019) of distribution of installation we will limit the amount of installations accepted into distribution to three (3). We are accepting applications of installation work and will have a committee of staff and a member to choose the three works we will take into the catalogue in 2019.
Installations must be considered media art/new media.
Applicants must be current members of Video Pool or willing to purchase a General Membership:Â http://www.videopool.org/membership/
Submissions must include:
- Updated CV
- Artist Statement
- Description of the Project
- Still images of the project (up to 15 images)

Process of Distribution
The process for distribution will be a bit different than with single channel video. The installation will be submitted to some festivals, but we will focus on sharing information about the work with curators and galleries around Canada and internationally when possible.
The support materials will be archived at VP, but we will not be able to house any infrastructure of the installation at VP.
Artists are responsible for:
- exhibition logistics
- shipping
- working with in installer at the gallery
- communication with the distributor regarding submissions
VP will be responsible for:
- submissions
- building partnerships for exhibition
- billing
- admin
- keeping the artist informed of the needs of the gallery for logistics of installation
The artist fee split will be the same as with single channel video and sound distribution, artists will receive 70% of the artist fee and distributors will receive 30% of the fee to cover costs. Artist fee payments will come through VP, and paid out to artists from VP when the payment is received.
Submission deadline: 12 November 2018
If you do not have documentation of the installation and would like to use the Poolside Projection to install and document your work, please include that as part of your application.
