Learn to perform music by writing code! No previous experience necessary!
A workshop for women, non-binary and transgender people in order to make space for those under-represented in programming and tech communities.
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of Sonic Pi, a software synthesizer which allows anyone to create music as computer code. In addition to receiving a tour of the Sonic Pi platform, you will also be introduced to the basics of programming in Ruby, a popular language for web development. DJ’s, musicians, installation artists, and anyone who wants or likes to play with synthesized audio will find this a powerful tool for creative expression.
