Media Art + Technology Residency (MATR)

Application Currently Closed

Successful applicants are awarded $2000, a one-year membership to VP's equipment and facilities, free admission to a limited number of VP workshops, and a gallery exhibition.

About

VP’s new Media Art and Technology Residency (MATR) is designed to be a site-specific exploration of VP’s intimate Poolside Gallery where artists will have up to one month to develop and install a new work, or adapt and modify an existing work, to respond to and utilize the gallery’s characteristics. MATR specifically supports experimental, independent technology-based works and we welcome submissions that focus on a large variety of mediums, approaches and aesthetics.

Artists will have full access to VP’s available equipment and facilities during their residency and applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the available equipment on VP’s website*.

VP gives priority to artists of equity-seeking groups with experimental media arts practices and works that explore technology for its aesthetics or socio-political implications.

VP will offer an artist fee of $2000 for the residency and subsequent exhibition in Poolside Gallery.
