Project Eligibility
Use of space will be guided by these points:
- Membership must be current
- Artwork must be within what would be considered a “new media” medium, including but not necessarily limited to: multi-channel, video, audio, electronics / arduino or computation, bioart, interactive etc….
- While private invitation related to the work being done by members using Poolside is encouraged, the member shall not host a public event in Poolside.
- All gallery activity must be conducted by the artist independently: VP does not have staff resources to assist in the installation of work or the trouble shooting of technology.
- VP is not able to pay fees associated with the artwork, its installation or shipping. Equipment and editing suite rentals are not included within this arrangement.
- The artist using Poolside will be responsible for repairing all damages incurred to the space.  This includes patching and painting walls – we will provide paint and tools. We ask that the member check with what is or is not acceptable within the space before embarking on it – we will be reasonable.
- Lengths of time vary: these will occur between exhibits and events planned for Poolside. While it probably will never happen, we reserve the right to alter time slots should other programming needs arise or change, within two weeks of the scheduled slot.
- Space is limited and not all requests may be filled.
- While this is not a competitive process, the selection committee will choose artists for the Project Space based on: amount of applicants received and time available, how the opportunity to use a gallery space will relatively benefit the applicant in their project and if the project aligns with VP’s mandate to support artists working in new media mediums.
