Soufrière Si Longtemps – Allan Gilbert Balon

Presented as part of send+receive, Soufrière Si Longtemps is a cinematic essay unfolding on the slopes of La Soufrière (Guadeloupe). At the crossroads of epistemology and biology, the work explores the enigma of self-generating life and the limits of perception, questioning the reflexive loop of living systems.

Between her performance on opening night of send + receive v28 and a special DJ set with 3Phaz and Compost, Maria leads a hands-on workshop using turntables and vinyl records as an instrument.

Brady Allard-The Five Drones

The Five Drones is presented by Cluster Festival and Video Pool Media Arts Centre.
The Five Drones is an exploration of the concept of drones in modern society. The installation is inspired by the term drone–a continuous, low-pitched sound, and the various connotations of the word in popular culture. As I reflect on the world we live in, I am struck by the increasing reliance on AI, technology, and the potential consequences this may have for humanity.

Adrian cn Berry-Gold Cove ∈ RITUAL

Gold Cove ∈ RITUAL is a multi-channel video installation featuring the latest audio-visual collaboration
between AI entity RITUAL & art-pop performer Gold Cove. Blurring the disciplinary lines between
music video production, ethnofiction, and cinematic storytelling, Gold Cove ∈ RITUAL is a glimpse into
the future of cultural work through the eyes of surveillance capitalism. From whimsical visions of AI
fueled desire to technicolor, this project presents a vibrant collage-based animation and rhythmic visual
poetry constructed from videos found from deep within the Internet.

Chukwudubem Ukaigwe | Tracing Currents

Originally developed from his Scott Leroux Fund for Media Arts Exploration Residency, Tracing Currents is a new, immersive multi-channel installation that cites multiple degrees of casual and fleeting happenings. This work colligates both extensive and distinct records of Afro-diasporic mappings by means of juxtaposing ambient and evanescent videos of African life with documentations of Black families dining together in Canada.

REFRAME Outdoor Projection Exhibition

REFRAME is a temporary, localized large-scale outdoor exhibition taking place in the Exchange District from MARCH 23-27, 2022.

These projections bring video art out of the gallery and into the public realm, reframing questions of history and the future; of land and place; video frame and architectural frame; perspective; and cultural access.

In/On/Out Interarts Festival

Introducing Winnipeg’s first-ever IN/ON/OUT INTERARTS FESTIVAL from March 23-27, 2022, brought to you by Stephanie Morin Robert and Manufacturing Entertainment. The festival includes four days of projection mapping in The Exchange, performances at the Rachel Brown Theatre, a motion capture workshop at The Output, and live A/V in Artspaces drayway!
