The 8th edition of Video Pool’s experimental sounds series Temporal Contours investigates the moment of sonic materialization as generated through corporeal language and noise with special performances by these excellent acts.

Temporal Contours is co-presented with Send+Receive: A Festival of Sound and Eye and Ear Control Records

The O.B.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The O.B. is an abstract rapper with a cinematic dreamlike performance. He uses all kinds of mediums of art such as clothing and instrumentals to paint a picture of imperfection and beauty. He usually keeps to himself but when he does that’s when the battles with addictions, avoidance, self loathing and anxiety take over. Using all this life experience to heal and empower. He is an alternative rapper with so much to offer and lots to learn. To bring together the live show The O.B. has help from the Odd Pedestrians; featuring Lauren Armstrong on synth, Kenneth Castillo as DJ And, Ana Mohammad Lou on guitar.

With everyone on stage it offers a distinct approach to the rap/trap genre.

Ray Fenwick

Ray is an interdisciplinary artist whose work seems to keep coming back to complicated relationships with communication, often exploring the absurdities and anxieties that surround our attempts to connect. The way language in all its forms interferes with and frames our ability to know ourselves and one another is endlessly strange to him. And funny. And heartbreaking.

Ray works with performance, video, sound and typography. He has participated in residencies. He has exhibited, performed, and screened work in both Canada and the U.S. He has run workshops exploring performance and sound for both youth and adults. He has received grants. He has performed at many art venues. He has also performed in bars and at music festivals. His project Pastoralia is an art, performance and music hybrid with Halifax artist Mitchell Wiebe.
