Workshop - Bringing 3D Assets to Life in Unity VR

with Taylor McArthur

Join digital media artist Taylor McArthur for an introduction to the open-source 3D video game engine software Unity!

Monday July 10 + July 17  |  6:00 - 8:00pm

Over 2 classes, participants will learn to navigate the Unity workspace, how to set up and organize a project in VR, and how to import 3D assets created in Blender. Along the way we'll cover render pipelines, functionality, boundaries, collisions, and how to set up and operate an Oculus Rift headset.

This is the second section of a four-part series, beginning with Intro to Blender 3D Creation Suite, also led by Taylor McArthur. Click HERE to read more and to register for part one!

As a prerequisite for this class, registrants must participate first in Intro to Blender 3D Creation Suite, or possess a working knowledge of Blender software. Participants will need to their own laptop to use in this workshop. (VP is able to provide a small number of in-person participants. If you are in need of a laptop to use, please let us know by emailing education@videopool.org after registering.) Participants will need to have the Unity software installed on their computer - click here to download it!

This class is available to be taken in-person only. If participants have their own Oculus Rift headset (or any other VR headset compatible with Unity), they are encouraged to bring it, though not required!
