VCR: Video Commission Residency
Call For Submissions to Create New Work!
Deadline for submissions: April 4, 2022
Video Pool Media Arts Centre is pleased to announce our first ever Video Commission Residency! VCR is a residency for the creation and exploration of experimental screen-based work. We’re currently seeking submissions from artists for the creation of single channel videos between 5-20 minutes long. The submissions will be reviewed by a jury and the selected applicants will be provided with a $2000 artist fee, access to VP facilities, equipment and workshops (Valued at $1500), and a screening featuring their work.Â
The theme of this residency is Channel Surfing, whether that's flipping through the channels on cable television or taking a deep dive into data mining, generative work, or social media's algorithmically generated feeds. We’re interested in works which tackle this theme creatively and we encourage applicants to interpret it loosely and to have some fun!
