Rental rates are offered on a sliding scale to ensure artists and community members have access to our venue at the fairest possible price. Special rates are offered for bookings with a Media Art focus.

Media Arts Rate Community / Artist Rate Non-Profit Rate For-Profit Rate

Media Arts Rate

The reduced Media Arts rate is for activities by individual members conducting independent media art-based practices. This rate also applies to MOTHERBOARD members automatically. Funded media arts activities should budget for the Community Rate.

As defined by the IMAA, “the term media arts applies to all forms of time-related or interactive art works that are created by the recording of sounds, visual images, or use new technologies. These art works are creative expressions and encompass the fields of film, audio, video and computer, digital, and electronic art.”

Community / Artist Rate

COMMUNITY / ARTIST RATE

These rates are for activities conducted by individual, non-media art focused creative practices or community members. Funded media arts projects should budget for this rate as well.

Any level of Membership is eligible for this rate

Public Event (5 hours): $170

Includes VP staffing for public events
Includes bar
Must be able to set up and tear down within 5 hours

Private Rental

Half-Day Rate (4 hours): $65/half-day

Daily Rate (8 hours): $115/day

Lockout Rate: $140/day

Note: We offer 25% discounts for 6 or more consecutive Daily or Lockout rentals.

Non-Profit Rate

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION RATE

These rates are for non-profit organizations and small groups/collectives with an annual budget of less than $500,000. Media arts activities can request a sponsorship or co-presentation that VP will consider on a case-by-case basis.

Any level of Membership is eligible for this rate.

Public Event (5 hours): $200

Includes VP staffing for public events
Includes bar
Must be able to set up and tear down within 5 hours

Private rental:

Half-Day Rate (4 hours): $85/half-day

Daily Rate (8 hours): $160/day

Lockout Rate: $180/day

Note: We offer 25% discounts for 6 or more consecutive Daily or Lockout rentals

For-Profit Rate

FOR PROFIT + LARGE ORGANIZATION RATE

These rates are for non-members, non-art related projects, and large, well funded organizations with average annual budgets greater than $500,000. In general, Artist-run centres, regardless of their budget, will access the Non-profit rate. In general, for-profit companies and activities not directly related to the arts will be charged this rate. Exceptions may apply based on a request through a written application.
