VP Learning Laboratories
VP Learning Laboratories seeks proposals from creative practitioners for innovative, online workshops or discussions in technology-based arts.
Are you interested in engaging artists about technology-based arts through online discussions, lectures, or workshops?
Video Pool Media Arts Centre (VP) is Manitoba’s only artist-run centre dedicated to the exploration of technology-based art. We aim to inspire curiosity and creative expression through technological empowerment and open exploration in all media art forms, cultivating experimental artistic practices and accessibility to technology through presentation, production, preservation, and education.
Through our new Online Learning Series – VP Learning Laboratories, we seek to partner with innovative artists, educators, activists and technicians interested in furthering the capacity of media artists through a range of creative concepts focused on technology. We are accepting any ideas you may have but are particularly interested in concepts around creative coding, physical computing (interactivity), algorithmic bias, data mining, VR, AR or other immersive technologies, as well as sound art, video art and other experimental practices using technology. All workshops will be free of charge to all participants.
This Online Learning Series is open to practitioners and artists across Canada. Please find examples of our previous year of workshops, talks and instructors below.
Proposals by and for equity seeking groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Fee: Fair compensation according duration, as per CARFAC guidelines.
Deadline:Â June 1st, 2021. We will continue to accept applications on an ongoing basis until the schedule is filled.
