Stephanie Morin-Robert, a critically acclaimed Canadian comedian and multidisciplinary artist, introduces and brings to Winnipeg the first-ever IN/ON/OUT INTERARTS FESTIVAL from March 23-27, 2022. Working together with special guest curators, Janelle Henry and Manufacturing Entertainment’s, Julie Gendron and Emma Hendrix.
The festival includes Manufacturing Entertainment's REFRAME, a temporary, localized large-scale outdoor exhibition that brings video art out of the gallery and into the public realm, reframing questions of history and the future; of land and place; video frame and architectural frame; perspective; and cultural access, illuminating several building facades with video art by local artists on buildings in the Exchange District.
The festival includes award-winning performances at the Rachel Browne Theatre, including Mind of a Snail, SNAFU, Dog & Pony Shows. NIMAC (National Indigenous Media Arts Coalition) will present an evening of short videos by Debbie Keeper, curated by Janelle Henry, and VP has teamed up with New Media Manitoba and Young Lungs Dance Exchange to create a month-long residency for dancers using motion capture technology.
The festival takes place at an indoor (IN) location, streamed online (ON) and various outdoor (OUT)locations.
This festival is possible thanks to the support from Heritage Canada, Winnipeg Arts Council and Manitoba Arts Council.
