Beyond the Screen: Technology, Accessibility & Creative Inclusion

How can technology make art more accessible? Explore 3D , Adaptive Tools, Audio Description, Immersive Art, Inclusive Design  Innovation + Accessibility  How can we build a future where they evolve together?

Technology has the power to remove barriers; but only when accessibility is considered from the beginning.

This discussion explores how emerging technologies can expand access to media arts for artists and audiences with disabilities. From tactile 3D sculptures that translate visual artworks for people with low vision or blindness to adaptive creative tools, audio description, immersive experiences, and inclusive design practices, we'll examine how innovation can make art more accessible to everyone.

Featuring artists, accessibility advocates, and technology specialists, this conversation asks an important question: How can we build a future where technological innovation and accessibility evolve together rather than separately?

Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a perception-altering and stimulating exchange of ideas.

More about the Tech-Forward Art Dialogues

In 2024, Video Pool Media Arts Centre (VP) launched the Tech-Forward Art Dialogues (TAD) series to listen. We asked artists, educators, and community members what they needed from VP and where media arts should go next. Those conversations helped shape new education initiatives, partnerships, and programming.

Now, two years later, the conversation is evolving.

The TADs turns its focus to the big questions shaping the future of media arts. Together, we'll explore timely topics at the intersection of technology, creativity, ethics, accessibility, and sustainability through community dialogue.

These aren't lectures. They're conversations we all hold about the ideas that challenge us, excite us, and sometimes keep us awake at night.
