VP Has a New Online Catalogue!
Video Pool Media Arts Centre is pleased to announce the launch of our new online video and film catalogue. Established in 1983 and with works dating back to the 1960s, our collection features over 2,200 titles by more than 600 artists. With a focus on video art from the prairies, the VP catalogue charts a history of creative experimentation in the media arts which continues to this day.
Our new catalogue is available to access through our website and hosted by our partners at VUCAVU, a not-for-profit streaming platform which showcases independent Canadian film and video. VP’s new catalogue will allow users to search by category, artist, genre, date, and more. We’re excited that our collection will be more accessible than ever for curators, researchers, and those who wish to learn more about Canadian video art! About Video Pool Media Arts Centre:
VPÂ aims to inspire curiosity and creative expression through technological empowerment and open exploration in all media art forms, cultivating experimental artistic practices and accessibility to technology through presentation, production, distribution, and education. We house the largest collection of prairie video art in Canada, present work at the intersection of technology and art in our Poolside Gallery, and The Output, our A/V performance and rehearsal venue, provides new opportunities for performance-based work.

About VUCAVU:
VUCAVU is operated by the non-profit Coalition of Canadian Independent Media Art Distributors (CCIMAD). CCIMAD was established in 2013 by a group of independent Canadian film and video distributors to improve international accessibility to their catalogues through a shared digital distribution strategy. To this end, they established VUCAVU, which works with independent film and video distributors from across Canada to improve access to Canadian works and to provide greater national and international awareness of Canadian filmmakers and video artists.Â
